Thing is, most kids would want to do STEAM activities, you just need to encourage them, to show them everything good about STEAM. Lots of kids think "STEAM" is just more book work about it, not hands-on fun things. When they realize it's actually hands-on, they'll jump at the chance to do STEAM and robotics. They will want to do STEAM careers in the future, which will satisfy the needs for the US. It's never too late to encourage kids to pursue STEAM careers, but that also doesn't mean force them to take STEAM careers.
